portland food cart

We had a food cart dinner the other night. I chose the vegetarian Indian food, which was pretty good. Just wish the food was a little warmer.  Also the eating area seemed warm, but it really wasn't. I think food carts are great if you are on the go or if it's not winter. Gotta say all the carts looked pretty cute.

雨続くの巻

ポートランドの清々しい秋はあっという間に終わってしまい、本格的に冬（雨期）に入った。雨が続くー。ここ数日はどしゃぶりが続いてて、外へ行きたくても、ためらってしまう。しかしこれに慣れて活発に動かないとココがかわいそう。なんとかココを防水防寒して頑張ろう！

Koko turned 8 months on 11/11/11

Now that Portland is having cold and rainy days, I really wish we could be in a warm environment, 

where koko can be naked all the time. 

Chilling

ポートランドでココを産むことができて本当に良かったなあと思う。特別な病院に行った訳でないけど、助産婦さんも看護婦さんもみんなすばらしかった。完全母乳をしたい私をフルサポートしてくれた。その後参加し出したnew moms groupを通じていろんなママ友に出会うことができた。全然バックグラウンドの違う女性たちがママになり、いとも簡単に共感しあうとこができる。

そして関心するのが布おむつ率の高さ！私は半々でやっているけど、彼女たちに比べたら全然エコでない。

あとオレゴン州では母乳の出ないママがほかのママから母乳をもらうことが違法でないため比較的良く耳にする。私も冷凍庫にたまった分をこの間ママ友にあげた。頑張ってる彼女のために少しでもお役にたてて嬉しかった。

ところでもうすぐハロウィーン！全然興味なかった行事だけど、ココのテントウ虫のコスチュームを昨夜着させてみたら、やっぱりかわいい！着させられてる方はまったくもって周りのテンションの高さが理解できない。そりゃそーだ。数年すれば自分からなりたいものを主張するんだろうけど想像できない。今はまだとってもベイビーでこの時間を大切にしなくちゃね、ココちゃん。

Sleep is good

It's getting hard for koko to nap during the day. But if she doesn't, it'd be a meltdown time, which is not fun for anybody. I like seeing this sleeping face.

Hello Daddy

Early this morning daddy left for NYC to play shows, 

so it will be just me and koko for the next couple of days. 

We are doing fine, although days feel longer. 

So far koko's been known as a very sensitive / shy baby. 

You would be very lucky if you get to see her smile like this, when you first meet her. 

So we take things slowly. We went to her first swimming lesson a few weeks ago. 

But it didn't last very long. 

We decided to take more time and go to the pool when not many people are around. 

At least she looks cute in her swim diaper.
